GEEKS UNITED!!! Mar. 23rd, 2008 @ 12:05 pm
So yes. I am not moved to actually campaign for a living breathing candidate, but I will travel to New York City to march during a promotional campaign for a fictional District Attorney that goes by the name Harvey Dent, who eventually becomes my second favorite Batman villian, Two-Face. (Second only to the clown prince of crime, The Joker)
Roxy and I journeyed deep into the heart of Manhatten and found a white van marked with campaign posters that read "I Believe In Harvey Dent" and "Take Back Gotham" and "You'll never get a real girl" No wait. That wasnt one. That may have come from the crowd.
Anyway, we were hurried into T-shirts (the actually purpose of this trip) and handed signs and pins. And then we marched. Yup about 25 geeks strong we marched through the streets of the city so nice they named it twice chanting "Take Back Gotham" and "I believe in Harvey Dent!" and "HD 4 DA!!".
The filmed a couple of promo videos which should end up at Ibeleiveinharveydent.com and we handed out stickers and pins to people who really had no idea we were campaigning for a fictional comic book character.
Things turned ugly when we marched into a massive pillow fight and some who were angered by our marching for a political candidate (Cereal?!) and some who were angered by capitalism in a pillow fight, literally attacked the gang tearing posters and screaming obsenities.
Seriously.
So we bid a fond farewell and ran quickly to a safe distance. From there we wandered Manhatten, seeing the Macy's Flower Show and TRU Times Square and dinner at the Heartland.
All in all, a fun and fairly surreal time.
oh and Happy Easter!

Been a crazy few months... Mar. 5th, 2008 @ 05:32 pm
Ever since the Giants won the super bowl, I have been like 3 weeks behind at work. Which bites.
Prior to that Xmas was fun. My Birthday in Vegas rawked. I ended up not getting into the UFC fight, but I ran into Jason Giambi (literally walked into him as I left the bathroom) I waited a bit to shake his hand and realized one of the guys he was with looked familar. So I went over to him and ended up shaking hands with Joba Chamberlain. So that was an awesome present from the Yankee Gods!
Since then its been work work work. Someday I might even catch up!

» Here we go, here we go again......
So my presidential campaign isnt doing so well. Not because of those pictures that surfaced, but because of a lack of really doing much of anything that could be considered campaigning.
In other news, turned down a promotion today. Too Far to travel and the manager is a raving, foaming Psychotic so no thanks.
Might get the chance to build a store which would be super cool, but it would involve 4 consecutive weeks of overnights and that is no beuno.
Besides that things are good. Im on "The Program" again trying to whittle myself down another 15 pds or so, and Im really just looking forward to the summer. And stuff.
» Since everyone else is doing it....
I am here, on Live Journal, to announce that I am launching an exploratory committee into the prospect of running for the office of President of The United States. I know this will come as a shock to many, as I have no prior political posts on my resume and the fact that I am not of age to run legally.
And, technically, my committee consists of myself, and perhaps Roxy if I ask her, and that's about it.
But since so many others have done so, and via the interweb, I feel it to be my patriotic duty to at least form this committee to explore the possibility, however slim it may be.
I'm almost certain of the findings this committee will...err..find, but I feel confident that I might even vote for myself.
Thank you and Good Night. And Good Luck.
» Hatin the Boss.....
So I decided Im going down to Florida in March and i decide that i will do the polite thing and let my boss know way far in advance of my trip. So i take her aside and say "Im going to Florida from March 13th and Ill be back around the 19th." and she sez, I kid you not, "Well, we'll have to try to work something out because Im taking off that week because its my spring break."
This women is taking ONE class! ONE! On a Tuesday Night! Holy Jumpin' HeyZeus onna rubber pogostick tree are you kidding me?! SPRING BREAK?! You need a break from that grueling 4 hours a week you spend at Business Management 102?! Sweet baby jesus I suppose there has never been someone in more desperate need of a Bahamavention then this women.
I usually wouldnt be this angry but this is like the 2nd or 3rd time in 4 months I have asked for an extended break (like 3 days or more) from work and have been told I couldn't because someone else had asked already or was trying to plan something. So enough is enough. Cripes.

» Cory Lidle.......
Wow. I am shocked by the news today. First I was terrified about planes crashing into NYC buildings with Roxy about to get on a flight. Then I hear its a helicopter or terrorists or a terrorist helicopter. Then its a plane and an accident. Then we hear the news.
Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle was piloting the plane when it crashed into the 40th floor on the building. i am just shocked and saddened and my deepest sympathy goes out to his wife and son.
Lidle was only with the Yankees a short time, but appeared to be a strong player for the future. He will be missed.
